Hello Members!
I stole that title “All systems GO for takeoff” from my good friend and fellow AV Team Member Erik Poselli.
Speaking of the AV Team, Erik, Bob Earle, Alan Held, Doug Barberio and our new president Joey Senese were at the Senior Center in Middletown last night to test all fo the equipment and software necessary to have a successful hybrid meeting. Mark Kennaugh and myself were logged on remotely to help with this as well.
So the big question was would the wireless signal in the Senior center be strong enough to run zoom.. This was a resounding “Yes”. We were able to connect no problem. Our brand new Dell XPS 13″ laptop, that all of you as members helped pay for, was then set up to the projector and that went off without a hitch thanks to Erik who has been testing this out on his own at home. Thanks to Alan Held we found out so many features about Zoom that we didn’t know about.
The Logitech C920e webcam and tripod, that you also helped pay for, worked beyond our expectations. You will now be able to experience the meetings as if you are actually there. As Erik said in an e-mail to the AV Team this morning when they went into the Senior Center it was foggy and gloomy and when they cane out the sky was clear and the stars were shine. I said in response that the O&W Employees of past were smiling down on us. I am so honored to be a part of the AV Team and this Society. Great things are happening and will continue to happen thanks to our membership and the many of the volunteers that give a lot of their free time to bring you the best “O&W Experience” possible.
So stay tuned for an invite to come in the next day or two. I will be there in-person for both the business meeting and for Doug’s outstanding PowerPoint Presentation, so I’ll see you then!
