I want to thank the Society for bestowing upon me the prestigious John Hobbs Chryn Award for 2023.
I was totally shocked at the Convention when Mal said, “Ronnie come on up and get your award”. I was getting ready the next day for my third move in three months (long story) and it just made my whole year.
Funny thing is I was just updating the site and looked back at the past winners and realized that when I first received this award it was exactly 25 years ago! I now join only several other members having won this award two times.
I have been blessed since first receiving this award in 1998, having had the pleasure to host several Paterson, NJ Railroad Days, many Middletown Railroad Days, a few at Mamakating and one in Mountaindale. Serving as a Trustee for over two decades, Newsletter co-editor and O&Webmaster from 1997-2011 and 2014-Present respectively has been a blast.
I am proud to serve the membership and hope I can provide you with premium content for many more years. But that is only possible with the talent of the many fabulous authors we have writing for the Ontario Express Newsletter and Website. I think you will agree that the articles these guys come up with is mind-boggling!
